Who are we?
Mission
Foundation Groningen Welcomes aims to make refugees feel welcome and at home in our country. We do this by supporting civilian initiatives who organise, guide and coordinate social and cultural activities. We serve as an intermediary between society and refugees.
Our values
Together with refugees and Groningers we strive to realize an intercultural society with various activities. Whatever belief you have, everyone is welcome. Variegation is our strength. The starting points in our work is that we try to work need-oriented and in addition to the supply of other organisations.
Foundation
Groningen Welcomes became a foundation at December 1st in 2015. The Identification Number for Legal Entities and Associations (RSIN number) is 855779044.
Main outlines of 2017 policy
Groningen Welcomes strives for strong relationships between regufees and Groningers and stimulates a quick integration. In our methods we have therefore decided to focus primarily on relations. As an initiative started by civilians, we strengthen the bottom-up movement by using buddies and communities. We teach specific knowledge on the basis of themes and a well thought-out program. Participants join Groningen Welcomes for 9 months and are afterwards invited and encouraged to continue as a buddy and/or community. Read more about our methods here!
