Verkeerslessen voor en door Kolhamsters / Traffic lessons for and by Kolhamsters

(English below) In een nieuw land moet je veel nieuwe dingen leren. Taal is een van de belangrijkste, maar leren hoe het verkeer werkt, zorgt dat je je veilig rond kan bewegen.
Omwonenden van de opvang in Kolham hadden gemerkt dat de vluchtelingen nog niet altijd juist gebruik van het verkeer maakten en aan de bel getrokken. De vrijwilligers in Kolham hebben hierop snel contact gezocht met Veilig Verkeer Nederland-mensen uit de omgeving. Ook zij waren enthousiast om de vluchtelingen over het verkeer in Nederland te leren en hebben de handen ineen geslagen! In samenwerking met deze vrijwilligers en de Kolham Verwelkomt coördinator is er in overleg met Veilig Verkeer Nederland een mooi verkeersproject opgezet. Door gebruik te maken van foto’s uit de directe omgeving is het gelukt om de lessen heel praktijkgericht te houden. De vluchtelingen hebben inmiddels hun eerste lessen gehad. Jong en oud, ze doen allemaal enthousiast mee, prachtige samenwerking! Dikke pluim voor alle betrokken Kolhamsters!!
Traffic lessons for and by Kolhamsters
In a new land you have to learn a lot of new things. Language is one of the most important one, but also learning how the traffic works, makes sure that you can move around safely.
The residents of people around the emergency shelter in Kolham noticed that the refugees don’t always use the correct way of the traffic and thus they realized that they need to do something. The volunteers in Kolham thus contacted people from the Veilig Verkeer Nederland from the surrounding area. They were enthusiastic to teach the refugees about the traffic in the Netherlands and to cooperate together. With collaboration with these volunteers and the coordinator of Kolham Verwelkomt, there is a nice traffic project launched as has been discussed with Veilig Verkeer Nederland. By using photos from the direct environment, it was successful to keep the lesson practically oriented. In the meantime, the refugees have had their first lesson. Young and old, they joined enthusiastically, nice cooperation! Two thumbs up for all Kolhamsters involved!!
